Books I'm Excited For In 2021

One of my bookish resolutions for 2021 is to only buy books I’ve pre-ordered. No more spontaneous book buying for me, until I’ve dented my TBR. So here are six books I'm excited to read when they come out in 2021…

1. The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon (The Bone Season, Book 4)

The Bone Season series is one I’ve been a real fan of since the beginning, and it is a series that has gone from strength to strength. I don’t even care that it’s been a comparatively long gap between books, because I know it’ll be an incredible read. The reviews I’ve seen from those with ARCs has me really quite stressed about the ending, though…

Release Date: 26th January

2. Bridge of Souls by V.E. Schwab (Cassidy Blake, Book 3)

Cassidy Blake can see ghosts. She follows her ghost-hunter parents around the country as they track down paranormal activity. This instalment sees Cassidy in New Orleans, facing a whole new deathly enemy…

Release Date: 4th March

3. Vulture by Bex Hogan (Isles of Storm and Sorrow, Book 3)

I’ll be honest, I’m still not sure I’ve forgiven Bex for the way she ended Venom, the second book in this series. I really love this swashbuckling series - and it’s UKYA fantasy! Got to support those UKYA fantasy titles in a maelstrom of imported US fantasy. Magic, pirates, and properly evil villains…

Release Date: 8th April

4. Strangeworlds: The Edge of the Ocean by L.D. Lapinski (Strangeworlds, Book 2)

Strangeworlds was one of my favourite books last year, and I’m so excited for the next instalment of Flick and Jonathan’s adventures! The Strangeworlds Travel Agency is a place where suitcases are portals to other worlds, and it’s up to Flick and Jonathan to go and help another world in peril…

Release Date: 15th April

5. Witches Steeped In Gold by Ciannon Smart

This is a Jamaican-inspired fantasy that I’ve seen so many booktubers talking about, and I can’t wait! Witchcraft and revenge combine in this unusual alliance.

Release Date: 20th April

6. One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

Red, White, and Royal Blue is one of my all time favourite books, and so when I discovered Casey McQuiston had a new book coming out, I was so incredibly excited it automatically became one of my most hyped books of the year. It’s a sapphic time travelling romance and I am SO EXCITED.

Release Date: 1st June (think this is the US release date).
